As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Yaeckel provides comprehensive eye exams, diagnoses, and treatments of disorders that affect the eye or vision. With experience in multidisciplinary settings, Dr. Yaeckel is trained to recognize a range of health issues including, glaucoma, dry eyes, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Catherine Yaeckel received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Vision Science. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Florida. Go Gators! With a strong background in nutrition and disease, Dr. Yaeckel is passionate about integrating eye health with total body wellness.
Dr. Yaeckel enjoys contributing to her profession and community. She remains an active member of the American and Florida Optometric Association and a frequent volunteer with Special Olympics. Dr. Yaeckel currently serves on the board of the Hillsborough Society of Optometrists and an active member of the SouthShore Chamber of Commerce.
Originally from Valrico, Florida, Dr. Yaeckel is very excited to serve the Apollo Beach area and surrounding communities. An avid bay area fisherwoman, she enjoys any chance to go inshore fishing with her husband, Capt. Travis or spending time cheering on the local sports teams with her family..
